RAW MATERIALS

The unit requires a number of mined materials such as different types of clay, different grades of feldspar, quartz, talc, zircon sand, kaolin, lime stone, dolomite which constitute 98% of the weight of the finished product are sourced locally. Some of the mining activities are undertaken by us with our own mining equipment such as dozers, excavators, drilling and blasting equipment, tipping dumpers etc. Our mining division has handled over 1,000,000 tonnes of locally mined raw materials in the past few years. In addition imported items such as transparent & opaque frit, zinc oxide, zircobit, colour pigments, printing base, barium carbonate, magnesium silicate etc are sourced from Spain, Italy, India, China and and other countries. Our raw material yard is capable of holding nearly 50,000 tonnes of raw materials at any one time. Considering the extended rainy season in Nigeria such a huge storage capacity becomes a necessity.
WALL TILE & FLOOR TILE PLANTS

The 2 plants are capable of producing wall tiles, vitrified floor tiles and glazed floor tiles in the thickness range of 6 mm to 12 mm. The tiles sizes that can be made in this plant are 6x6, 8x12, 8x8, 12x12 and 16x16. All the equipment have been sourced from SACMI of Italy and the plants are capable of producing 10,000 SqM of tiles per day. The production lines are equipped with multiple printing stations to enable production of multiple coloured products. We have a large stock of a variety of punches and screens to produce innumerable designs for the market. We have introduced nearly 750 different and unique designs in the Nigerian marketplace.
SANITARY WARE

The sanitary-ware section has a capacity to produce 3000 pieces per day of sanitary-ware items such as western WCs, squat type WCs, flush tanks, wash basins, gift-ware and bathroom fittings. In order to maximize the cost effectiveness taking into consideration the labour productivity and skill sets available, and the cost of technology, we use a variety of moulding techniques manual bench casting, battery casting and semi-automatic RDM casting. So also we use continuous tunnel kiln as well as shuttle kilns for the production of sanitary ware.
FRIT PLANT

To improve the quality of product, and save on foreign exchange from importation, RCL have recently begun manufacturing frits for their own purposes and for other industries in Nigeria. RCL now have the capability to produce 20 MT of frits a day, a significant boost to the local economy.
BRICK PLANT

RCLs newest project is in clay bricks. Once again using raw materials sourced almost exclusively from Nigeria, RCL are manufacturing a stronger, cheaper, better quality substitute to the usual cement blocks used in construction.
